The Lenten season is underway.

We hope that this Lenten season may be your best yet and that your fervor for it may increase daily. It is our wish that you may make a great effort to keep its spirit, doing penance in the spirit of penance and to limit all worldy entertainments to a minimum, all in order that you may draw yourself closer to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by meditating on His Passion and Death.

It has been quite some time since we've posted here, but we have some good news to pass along concerning the broadcasting of Holy Mass.

First and foremost, we would like to thank you all for your prayers for our efforts in broadcasting and for your patience as we are constantly improving the production of the broadcast. We hope within the next two weeks that the sound problems that have been occuring will be resolved as we are testing different mediums to get better sound in the broadcast.

Second, starting this Friday March 9th, 2012 we will be broadcasting Stations of the Cross Friday evenings at 7:00pm CST. We will also have it recorded and archived on our main broadcasting site as well if we are not able to broadcast live. By being archived it also assists you to pray the Stations of the Cross daily during this season, as well as anytime outside of Lent.

Third, God willing we will be broadcasting all of the services of Holy Week from Palm Sunday until Easter Sunday. We have the capabilities now of using multiple cameras so that you the faithful out there, may see the Procession on Palm Sunday as it leads outside, outside, and as it returns inside the church. This will also give you the faithful, the ability to see Holy Saturday services including the Blessing of the Fire. We realize that many have never had the opportunity to participate in these services due to distance. So this, we hope, will be of benefit to your immortal souls.

Fourth and last, we know that many have had or are having troubles watching the broadcast. We would like to address this now. Holy Mass begins at 9:30am CST, but we generally "go live" about 4 minutes or so before Holy Mass. There is a short introduction that we broadcast prior to Holy Mass that announces which Feast that is to be celebrated that day. The color of the Feast is the color that the Feast name and the date that is shown. Then there is a picture taken from that day's Holy Gospel. Following that, there is a prayer before Holy Mass that is displayed. If you come to this blog or to the main broadcast page before 9:26am CST, you will need to refresh the page on your internet browser, as well as the push the "play" symbol inside the media player after 9:26am CST. So if you tune into either of these sites before 9:26am CST, the media player WILL NOT automatically start the live broadcast. Again, please refresh the page on your browser if you visit either page prior to 9:26am CST. We hope this will clear things up and will help you view the broadcast of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

In closing, we ask again for your prayers for our efforts in broadcasting. We thank you for them not only for us, but as well for the faithful out there watching and those too seeking the true Faith, who may through these broadcasts, find it here. May God bless you.
